प्राचीन ज्ञान से विमुख होना समाज के लिए कष्टकर-भर्तृहरि नीति शतक

 अंग्रेजों ने भारत में जिस शिक्षा पद्धति को स्थापित किया उसका प्रचलन निर्बाध गति से हमारे देश में अब भी जारी है।  इस पद्धति को अपनाये रखने का कारण यह है कि इसके आधार पर विद्याध्यन करने के पश्चात् जो उपाधियां प्राप्त होती हैं उसी से निजी तथा सरकारी क्षेत्रों में नौकरियां करने का अवसर आधुनिक गुलामों को मिलता है।  यह अलग बात है कि हमारे शैक्षणिक क्षेत्र के विद्वान आज भी देश में व्याप्त बेरोजगारी की समस्या को देखते हुए शिक्षा को अधिक रोजगारोन्मुखी बनाने की मांग करते हैं।
      पहले तकनीकी और विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में शिक्षा करने वालों को भी नौकरी ढूंढने के अभियान में लगना पड़ता था पर उदारीकरण ने ऐसी स्थिति बना दी है कि तकनीकी महाविद्यालायों मेें अध्ययन करने के दौरान ही नौकरी देने वाले शिविर लगाकर छात्रों का भावी गुलाम कें रूप में चयन किया जाने लगा है। आजकल  किसी भी शैक्षणिक संस्थान की प्रतिष्ठा इस बात पर निर्भर करती है कि उसने  अपने यहां अध्ययनरत कितने अधिक छात्रों को गुलामी का अवसर का लाभ उठाने की सुविधा प्रदान की।
भर्तृहरि नीति शतक में कहा गया है कि

पुरा विद्वत्तासीदुषशमवतां क्लेशहेतयेगता कालेनासौ विषयसुखसिद्धयै विषयिणाम्।
इदानीं सम्प्रेक्ष्य क्षितितलभुजः शास्त्रविमुखनहो कष्ट साऽपि प्रतिदिनमधोऽधः प्रविशत।।
     हिन्दी भावार्थ-पहले लोग मानसिक रूप से दृढ़ होने के लिये विद्याध्ययन करते थे। कालांतर में विषयों में आसक्त होने पर सुख प्राप्त करने के लिये उसका अनुकरण किया। अब तो लोग शास्त्रों से विमुख हो गये हैं। वह उनका नाम भी नहीं सुनना चाहते थे। राजाओं ने भी शास्त्रों में मुंह फेर लिया है। इस तरह यह प्रथ्वी रसातल में जा रही है वह चिंत्ता का विषय है।
      आमतौर से हमारे यहां के धार्मिक विद्वान शास्त्रों से विमुख होने की शिकायत करते हैं पर यह कोई नयी बात नहीं है। हमारे समाज में भले ही प्राचीन ग्रंथो को मान्यता प्राप्त है पर उसमें स्वाध्याय करने का मन सहजता से नहीं लगता। यही कारण है कि जो उनका अध्ययन करते हैं वह उसका व्यवसायिक उपयोग करते समाज में गुरु पद पर प्रतिष्ठित हों जाते हैं।  लोग फुर्सत के समय उनके प्रवचन सुनकर मनोरंजन के रूप में आनंद उठाते हैं।
        दरअसल प्राचीन ग्रंथों का अध्यात्मिक अध्ययन प्रारंभ में विषतुल्य प्रतीत होता है पर कालांतर में उसके आधार पर इस मायावी संसार के नाटकीय दृश्य देखकर उनका विश्लेषण करने की सुविधा मिलती है जो अत्यंत मनोरंजक होती है।  हमारे अध्यात्मिक दर्शन में भाव के त्याग का अत्यंत महत्व प्रतिपादित करने के साथ ही यह भी बताया गया है कि भोग का सुख क्षणिक होने के साथ कालांतर में उसका  प्रभाव विकार के रूप में प्रकट होता है।  अज्ञान के अभाव में लोग भोग के स्वरूप को ही जीवन का आनंद समझते हैं।  इतना ही नहीं लोगों में सबसे बड़ा भोगी बनने की होड़ लगी है।  यही कारण है कि देश में दैहिक, मानसिक तथा वैचारिक रोगियों की संख्या बढ़ी है।
      आज के समय हम प्राचीन शिक्षा पद्धति की बात तो कर ही नहीं सकते।  कारण यह है कि भारत में मानव श्रम अधिक मात्रा में है और उसका निर्यात भी होता है।  हम जिन लोगों को विदेशों में नोक्री करते देखते हैं वह मानव श्रम के निर्यात का ही रूप है।  अंग्रेजी भाषा का इसलिये अपनाये रखा गया है ताकि श्रम निर्यात करने की सुविधा बनी रहे।  ऐसे में शिक्षा के पाठयक्रम में भारतीय ग्रंथों को समाहित करने का विचार प्रकट करने पर सामान्य व्यक्ति भी हंसेगा तब अंग्रेजी शिक्षा से उच्च पद पर लोगों से समर्थन की आशा करना भी व्यर्थ है।
      यह अलग बात है कि समाज में नैतिक, भावनात्मक तथा वैचारिक पतन का रोना सभी होते हैं। हमारे प्राचीन ऋषियों, मुनियों और तपस्वियों ने अपने परिश्रम से जीवन के सत्य की खोज कर प्रस्तुत कर दी है।  नया कोई सत्य दृष्टिागोचर नहीं होता।  ऐसे में जिन लोगों को ज्ञान के आधार पर जीवन का आंनद उठाना है उन्हें प्राचीन ग्रंथों का अध्ययन करते रहना चाहिये।
